However, the standard in my neighborhood for budget events is to do the party in a synagogue hall, to dress up, and to have an activity as well as dancing. Here is a list of basics that you'll need for your party, feel free to add any I forgot in the comments below! Service Providers: 1. Photographer / Magnets 2. Caterer 3. DJ / Dance Motivator 4. Having a great stage presence is an important part of performing whether you are a beginner or a professional. It’s about creating an unforgettable experience for your audience that appeals to all the senses and leaves them wanting more. Here are 10 tips to help you have an electrifying stage presence each time you perform. 1. Smile: Even if you feel nervous, a genuine smile will go a long way with your audience. 2. Use Your Hands: Don’t just stand in one spot and sing, use your hands and arms to express yourself and add extra life to your performance. 3. Move Around: Move around the stage when appropriate, but make sure to stay away from trip hazards! 4. Connect With the Audience: Make eye contact with individuals in the crowd and acknowledge them when they react to your performance. 5. Use Facial Expressions: Your facial expressions will bring your performance to life and make it more believable to the audience. 6. Speak Clearly: If you’re introducing songs, introducing yourself, or talking between songs, be sure to speak clearly so the audience understands what you are saying. 7. Own the Stage: Everyone is there to see you perform, so don’t be afraid to own the stage. Get up close to the edge and be sure to fill the entire space with your energy. 8. Dress for Success: The way you dress sets the tone for your performance and helps you command respect from the audience. Choose something appropriate for your style and genre. 9. Know Your Music: You can practice all you want, but if you don’t know your music inside and out, you’ll lack confidence on stage. 10. Practice, Practice, Practice: Rehearse as much as possible and practice with a friend or bandmate for the best results. As an introvert who works in entertainment, I go over this list all the time- you're not alone! The most important thing is to remind yourself - you are a vessel for all the good that you were put in the world to do and you can truly achieve anything! Nerves are just our brains way of trying to keep us safe. You can do this!

Top Tips for Event Entertainers to Make Their Performance Memorable Event entertainers are tasked with the difficult job of captivating an audience and making their event show memorable. It’s no small feat, but there are ways to ensure your event performance is one that guests will remember for a long time. In this blog post, we’ll discuss some of the top tips that event entertainers can use to make their performance unforgettable. Read on to learn more! Plan Ahead If you are an event entertainer, planning ahead is essential to ensuring a successful performance. Take the time to consider all aspects of the show, from the introduction to the finale. Have a plan for how you will start and end the show, and how to move through the various acts. Consider the atmosphere and dynamics of the event, and come up with an engaging and entertaining routine that suits the occasion. Be sure to account for any special requests made by the client. Being organized and having a plan in place will help you make the most of your performance, allowing you to keep the crowd entertained throughout your set. Wear Clothes that are fun and appropriate for the event When you’re an event entertainer, the clothes you wear can make or break your performance. It’s important to dress in a way that is appropriate for the event. If you’re performing for a corporate event, then a more formal look might be best. But if you’re entertaining at a children’s party, then you should choose something fun and playful. It’s also important to keep in mind that your clothes should be comfortable enough to move around in, since you’ll be active during your performance. You don’t want to be constantly adjusting your outfit or feeling restricted by what you’re wearing. Think about fabrics and cuts that will let you move freely without being too revealing. Finally, consider adding some small details to make your performance stand out. Accessories like hats, scarves, and necklaces can add a touch of color or sparkle to your outfit. The goal is to make sure that your look is professional but also expresses your personality and flair. Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse Practice makes perfect, and that is especially true for event entertainers. No matter how experienced you are, you should always put in the work to make sure your performance is up to par. Take the time to rehearse your act and make sure you know exactly what you’re going to do before stepping out onto the stage. The better prepared you are, the less stress you will feel when performing and the more confident you will be. When rehearsing, make sure you practice with all of your props and audio equipment. This will help you get a feel for how long certain parts of your show will take and if there are any areas that need improvement. It will also help you prepare for potential issues that could arise during your performance such as technical difficulties or equipment malfunctions. Rehearsing will give you a chance to work out any kinks and make sure that everything runs smoothly on the big day. Remember, even though rehearsal can be tedious and time consuming, it’s essential for ensuring a successful performance. With some hard work and dedication, you can make sure that your event entertainment leaves a lasting impression! Be Professional As an event entertainer, it’s important to remember that you are there to provide a service. Your professionalism and attitude can make or break the experience for everyone involved. Here are some tips to help you maintain a professional demeanor: • Dress appropriately. Make sure that your attire is fun and appropriate for the event. Avoid too-casual clothing, like t-shirts and shorts. • Follow instructions. If you have been asked to do something specific, be sure to follow through with it in a timely manner. • Respect the venue. Be sure to abide by the rules and regulations of the space where the event is taking place. • Know your audience. Before the event, take the time to research your audience and adjust your material accordingly. • Stay focused. Don’t get distracted by your phone or social media. Stay focused on delivering a great performance. • Interact with the audience. Engage with the audience by asking questions and encouraging participation. • Be punctual. Show up early and be prepared to start at the designated time. • Have a positive attitude. Even if something unexpected happens during the show, remain positive and flexible. By following these tips, you’ll be sure to make a great impression as an event entertainer and ensure that your performance is memorable! Interact with the Audience If you're performing at an event, one of the best ways to make your performance memorable is to interact with the audience. Engaging with the people in attendance helps make your performance more personal and allows them to feel more involved in the show. There are many ways to interact with an audience, such as introducing yourself and your act, telling stories about your music or life experiences, and asking questions. You can also have some audience participation moments where members of the audience can join in and help create a unique experience. This could include singing along to a song, playing an instrument with you, or even joining in a dance routine. No matter what type of event you’re playing at, interacting with the audience is an important part of making your performance memorable. Try to get creative and use your imagination when engaging with the crowd. This will help keep them entertained and make your performance truly stand out! Be Prepared for Anything When you’re an event entertainer, it’s important to be prepared for anything. You never know what kind of audience you’ll be facing or what kinds of questions or requests they may have. To ensure your performance goes off without a hitch, make sure you come up with some backup plans in case of any unexpected developments. For starters, always have your equipment and props on hand in case of an emergency. If a piece of equipment or prop isn’t working as intended, be ready to improvise and keep the show going. Have alternate plans for how you’ll handle any unexpected issues. This could be a quick explanation of the issue or a joke to lighten the mood. Having a couple of go-to jokes can also help break the ice and get the crowd warmed up for the performance. It’s also important to be prepared for changes in the audience. Different age groups, different interests, and different cultures will all affect how you approach your performance. Being able to read the crowd and make adjustments to your show accordingly is key for ensuring everyone enjoys your performance. In short, the key to making your performance memorable is being prepared for anything that comes your way. With the right planning and a little bit of improvisation, you can ensure that no matter the audience, your event entertainment will be a success! Make It Your Own When it comes to performing as an event entertainer, you want to make sure that your performance stands out. One of the best ways to do this is to make your performance unique. While you should still use traditional techniques and performances that you know will be well received by your audience, don’t be afraid to add your own spin or unique flair to it. You can do this by adding personalized jokes or anecdotes throughout your performance, or even by incorporating props or other elements that are unique to your style. You could also create a signature move that people will recognize whenever they see you perform. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s something that speaks to you as an individual and that won’t be replicated by anyone else. When you make your performance your own, you can guarantee that no one else will have seen anything like it before. This makes your performance more memorable and gives your audience something special that they’ll remember long after the event has ended. So take the time to experiment with different techniques and let your personality shine through in each performance! Relax and Have Fun! As an event entertainer, it’s important to remember that you are ultimately there to put on a show for the audience. Relaxing and having fun will not only help you deliver a great performance but it will also keep the energy up and make the audience feel more comfortable. Remember that although you should take your job seriously, you should also have a good time with it. Put on a smile, move around, get the crowd engaged, and make sure you’re enjoying the moment. Interacting with the crowd in a positive way will help them connect to your performance, making it more memorable. Don’t forget to take a few breaks too. Take a few moments to observe what’s going on around you, catch your breath, and remind yourself that this is supposed to be enjoyable. When you give yourself permission to relax and enjoy yourself, your performance will be much more memorable.

Choosing the right theme can set the tone for the event and help bring your celebration to life. It can also be an overwhelming task - there are so many options and ideas out there! In this blog post, we’ll provide you with 10 tips for choosing the perfect Theme for Bat Mitzvah or Theme for Bar Mitzvah to make your celebration a memorable one. 1) Determine what type of event you want it to be Choosing a theme for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah is a big decision and one that can shape the entire event. Before settling on a theme, you need to determine what type of event you want it to be. Are you looking for something low-key and intimate, or are you aiming for a more grandiose affair? Think about the atmosphere you want to create and how you would like your guests to feel when they attend. For example, if you’re hoping for a high-energy event with plenty of music and dancing, consider hiring a DJ or band ( Or both!). On the other hand, if you’d prefer a more relaxed event with plenty of time for conversation, then tone down the live music and opt for recorded music instead . Knowing the type of event you want to host will help guide your theme selection. 2) Choose a theme that reflects your child's unique personality When planning a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, it is important to pick a theme that reflects your child's unique personality and interests. One fun way to make the celebration special and memorable is to choose a theme that will reflect their passions. For example, if your child loves music, you could have an 'electric violinist' perform at the party! Or, if they are into sports, why not host a sports-themed event? Get creative and think of ways to showcase your child's individual style. If they have a favorite color or hobby, you can incorporate those elements into the decor, food, activities, and more. Taking the time to plan a theme that reflects your child's personality will help make the day even more special for them. 3) Keep the guest list in mind when choosing a theme Choosing a theme for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah should reflect not only your child’s personality, but also the size and type of event you are planning. Consider the guest list carefully and determine if the theme will be enjoyable for everyone who is attending. If you have a lot of young people attending, then having an electric violinist or a popular DJ may be a great option for entertainment. On the other hand, if you are inviting more mature guests, consider a theme that involves a game night or karaoke party. Taking into account the age range of your guests will help you narrow down the perfect theme for your special event. 4) Consider the location of the event when choosing a theme When selecting a theme for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, one factor to take into account is the location of the event. If you’re hosting the event in a large ballroom, you can consider grand themes like Hollywood or a masquerade ball, as these will look great in a big open space. You may even be able to find a venue that matches the chosen theme. For example, if you choose a winter wonderland theme, you may be able to find a venue with an ice rink or snow-covered landscape. On the other hand, if you’re hosting the event in a smaller, more intimate space, opt for simpler themes that won’t overwhelm the area. Additionally, if your venue has unique features, such as a stage or built in retro decor, you may want to consider a theme that complements them. No matter what type of space you’re hosting your Bar or Bat Mitzvah in, make sure that the theme you choose makes sense for the location. This way, guests will enjoy themselves and have a memorable experience. 5) Make sure the chosen theme is age-appropriate When selecting a theme for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, it is important to keep in mind the age of your child. An older child may prefer a more sophisticated theme, such as a Hollywood-style red carpet affair with an electric violinist playing music while guests arrive. Alternatively, younger children may prefer a more youthful theme with bright colors and fun decorations. Consider what type of activities your child enjoys, what their interests are, and what will make them excited about their special day. If you’re unsure about what kind of theme to choose, talk to your child and ask them for input! 6) Choose a theme that is easy to decorate for When choosing a theme for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, one of the most important things to consider is whether or not it will be easy to decorate for. After all, the decorations can really set the tone of the event. One way to make decorating easy is to choose a theme that already has decorations associated with it. For example, if you are having a music-themed event, you can easily incorporate decorations such as microphones and musical instruments into the decorations. Additionally, you can find some great ideas for music-themed decorations online. Another great way to make decorating easy is to choose a theme that can be adapted to multiple venues. For example, if you are having a tropical-themed Bar or Bat Mitzvah, you can easily adapt the decorations to any location. For example, you could use palm trees and other tropical plants, or you could use vibrant colors and fabrics to create a beach vibe. Finally, don't be afraid to ask for help. Friends and family members are often great resources when it comes to decorating. Ask them for their opinions and ideas, and don't forget to enlist their help in getting it all set up! Choosing a theme that is easy to decorate for is an important part of planning a successful Bar or Bat Mitzvah. With careful consideration and the right resources, you can easily create a stunning atmosphere that is perfect for your event. 7) Consider the food and drinks that will be served at the event When choosing a theme for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, it is important to consider the food and drinks that will be served at the event. Depending on your budget and the size of your gathering, you may opt for a buffet-style dinner, a catered meal, or even a food truck. It’s also important to consider any dietary restrictions your guests may have when planning food and drinks. The type of food and drinks you serve can tie into the overall theme of your event. For example, if you’re hosting an outdoor summer gathering, you might offer picnic-style foods such as burgers, hotdogs, potato salad, and corn on the cob. For a more formal event, such as an indoor reception with an electric violinist, you could offer hors d'oeuvres and finger foods such as mini quiches, sushi platters, and cheese platters. You could even have themed cocktails to go along with the party. Whatever the theme, make sure to plan the food and drinks accordingly! 8) Make sure the chosen theme is within your budget It’s important to set a budget for your Bat or Bar Mitzvah before you start looking for themes. Consider what you can realistically afford and how much you’d like to spend on decorations, entertainment, food and drinks, etc. You may even want to look for cost-saving measures like renting items instead of buying them, or opting for a DJ with a live electric violinist instead of a full band. Once you have a budget set, you can narrow down the list of potential themes to the ones that fit within your spending parameters. It’s important to be honest with yourself and your vendors about what your budget is in order to ensure that you don’t overspend. Ultimately, it’s better to stick to your budget than to go over it and risk feeling stressed out in the days leading up to the event. 9) Have fun with it! When it comes to your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, you want to make sure that the event is memorable and fun for everyone involved. One way to do this is to incorporate a unique theme into the celebration. Think outside of the box and add special touches that will make the event stand out. You could hire an electric violinist to perform during the dinner or have a cupcake bar with different flavors. Consider a themed photo booth with props that are relevant to the chosen theme. Let your creativity shine and make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime experience! 10) Ask your child for input Involve your child in the theme selection process! After all, it's their day to celebrate. Ask your child what type of event they would like to have and take their ideas into consideration. Perhaps they'd like a Hollywood-themed party complete with glamorous decorations, or maybe a more traditional celebration with lots of games and activities. By letting your child's ideas and preferences guide the theme selection process, you can ensure that their Bar or Bat Mitzvah is an event they'll never forget.
