So I thought I'd tell you about my latest cover video, since I put more effort into it than I've ever put into any videos, and I'm finding that I love video editing.
Playing the violin is a little like standing in quicksand, to be honest. I mean I love playing, and I love teaching, and you CAN get really good really fast by following all my very smart, very awesome instructions, but when you don't practice for a while, you start getting rusty, and that's more than a little annoying! I've been out of school now for about a year and a half, and while I do manage to find about an hour-two hours a day to myself, I have so many priorities that it's really hard to delegate. Especially since while I was in school I was practicing 3-5 hours a day.
In any case, editing is fun because then it's there and it's never gone.
Unless your computer breaks.
(Sorry about that)
In any case, I had this idea, and so I thought about how to do it-to have this concept from one song- where the dead guy in the tree is singing to his love to come and join him in a very creepy, co-dependent kind way, and then you have this song about how "I'll be loving you til the love runs out", which I interpreted to be as long as I live I'll love you, but then after that, well, see ya!
and so that's basically the explanation of the video, and how we put it together. So first you see me and my daughter, Eliora, sitting having a tea party, and then suddenly I see the guy (dead guy) in the tree, and I have to protect her, and vanquish the bad guy. So I run, and we have some epic fighting with our bows and violins (thanks Jessica for being my stunt double!!!!) , but then she knocks me down and that's it, until my baby girl comes and saves the day by playing the dead guy into the woods, and I stand up and finish the job. And there are lots of celebrations, and happiness.
So that's the story of the video! And the next one we're working on is...
